RCADD’s lending library maintains a categorical selection of both functional and educational resources relating to Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD’s) and various other Developmental Delays. Resources include: books for both professionals and parents, audio and video resources, children’s books, games and activities with adaptation instructions, take-home packs, and a range of informational/referral handouts. RCADD also has software programs, materials, and lamination for parents and teachers to make customized support material to meet the needs of specific children. Upon completing an RCADD application, patrons receive free access to all RCADD resources and can check out two items for a two week period.
RCADD provides training opportunities specific to the needs of those teaching, serving, or caring for a child with an Autism Spectrum Disorder or other Developmental Delays. Trainings are designed in light of evidence-based treatments and interventions as well as current promising practices. By participating in interactive activities, participants increase their knowledge and develop a real-life understanding of the characteristics of autism and other developmental delays. RCADD’s professional staff customizes training to meet the needs and requests of Head Start and other organizations. In addition, the staff also offers one-on-one consultations for all patrons and provides ongoing support to develop patrons’ ability to independently access RCADD resources.
